NDDC Parks & Green Spaces
North Devon Council (NDC) manages and looks after the following parks and green spaces in Barnstaple:
- Anchor Wood – a woodland slope leading to the Tarka Trail
- Castle Green – a green space in Barnstaple town centre, where you can find the remains of a Norman Motte and Bailey castle
- Pilton Park
- Parts of Rock Park – including the skatepark

- Rotary Gardens – a park with a variety of trees – and a tree trail
- The Tarka Trail – the Barnstaple to Braunton section of the national cycle route and footpath
- Whiddon Valley Woodland – a stream-edged wooded slope with paths running through it
- Yeo Valley Woodland Local Nature Reserve – a Green Flag award-winning park within a sheltered valley
