You can book visits for most days, depending on the availability of the Guildhall.
At the moment all of our school are offered free of charge, as these are recently launched activities undergoing trial periods. We anticipate all visits to incur a cost in the future.
To help us improve these offers, you will be asked to complete a feedback form after each visit.
For wheelchair users, the Guildhall is wheelchair accessible through a side entrance with level access.
There is a lift available for access to the first floor. Please make staff aware at the time of booking if you will be requiring the lift.
There is no parking outside the building, nor any designated drop-off points on this main road. Coaches can drop school groups near the Library or Cattle Market car park on Tuly Street and walk through to the High Street.
You will need to bring a qualified First Aider and enough accompanying adults for your visit. The staff and volunteers at Barnstaple Town Council will not be responsible for children at any point during the visit.
If you have been asked to bring worksheets, please print these out and bring them with you.
You will also need to bring appropriate clothing for any weather conditions, as your visit may include a town tour section.
There are three toilets on the first floor of the Guildhall available for use. There is one disabled toilet on the ground floor.
If your visit is a full-day visit, you may eat snacks and lunch in the Guildhall. There are limited facilities to make hot drinks. We ask that you take all your rubbish with you and make sure that you leave the Guildhall as you found it.
