Rotary Gardens New Seat

Some of you might have seen or heard about a new ‘seat’ installed in Rotary Gardens, Pilton.
We have Town Councillor Janet Coates to thank for this new addition and this is how it came about.
Cllr Coates said: “I was approached by a member of the community who said how good it would be to have another seat in Rotary Gardens, Pilton in place of the one that had been removed. So I approached the Town Council’s Environment Committee to put the case to them for a new seat.
“Happily, because it was clear that it would benefit so many people, the Environment Committee agreed that it should be replaced.
“I am delighted because it is somewhere for the residents of the care home to sit, as well as all the other locals and visitors who come to Rotary Gardens. It’s also such a lovely view of the gardens from there, and even since it was installed last week I’ve seen people making use of the seat already.
“I’d like to thank North Devon Council and the Town Council’s Rangers for making it all happen.”
The seat looks great in place, you can find it in Rotary Gardens, Pilton, not far from the main entrance opposite the fire station.
